Cascading Lights

A gentle breeze whispers through
The endless stretch of green,
Seeming to leak secrets,
To the nearby clouds.

The brilliant blue sky,
Contrasts with the randomly scattered orange flowers,
The sun peaks out timidly, sending shafts of light,
Cascading through the valleys.

I feel its warmth,
My spirits soar, as Im overwhelmed
By the rising of my heart.
I take in the beauty, absorbing it.

But the structure ahead is dead,
With straight sides and sharp corners,
So unlike the exotic curves of nature.
Always moving, living.

I turn away, as wild exhilaration fills me,
And I leap across the swaying grasses,
Moved into a never-ending dance,
More alive than ever before.

Out of breath,
I stop by a rushing stream,
Which seems to laugh like a child,
And share my mirth.

I embrace a tree,
Which bends to hug me back,
With tan arms, and green fingers,
Im forever lost in the moment.
